In 2019, family, medical, and parental leave was not a guaranteed benefit by most employers in most states.

Often employee’s had to make the tough choice of keeping their job or pursing the healthcare they needed. Amy Beacom and the Center for Parental Leave Leadership made it their mission to change that. CPLL was at the forefront of policy creation, business education, and employee awareness of paid medical leave. I partnered with CPLL to design and develop a pitch deck to secure funding and generate awareness of their services.


Legislation was still catching up

Federal legislation was lagging behind on providing policy that protected employee’s who needed to take leave. Much of the policy was defined state-by-state, and that burden was frequently passed on directly to the employer to define. Using CPLL insight and data, we developed a series of info graphics to support their narrative.

Design Research and Strategy

In addition to helping CPLL develop the pitch deck, I also provided design research support which resulted in customer personas, competor landscape,and industry trends. This gave us a clear path to determine how to scale their workshops and service offerings with line of site to building a digital platform.
